Accessibility

This site has been designed to meet accessibility guidelines published by the Government and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), in order to ensure that its content is accessible to users with visual impairment or other disability.

To change the text size

You can use the controls within your web browser to choose your preferred text size:

  • In Internet Explorer 6, go to View > Text Size
  • In Internet Explorer 7, go to Page > Text Size
  • In Firefox, go to View > Text Size or just press CTRL/+ or CTRL/-
  • For other browsers, please refer to your browser's help documentation for more information

Page coding standards

Page templates within the site have been built to the W3C's XHTML and CSS standards, meaning that the structure of the content is kept separate from its styling, so it can be read by alternative means to a conventional browser, such as a screen reader.

Access keys

Access keys have not been implemented on this site, since they can conflict with preset access keys on different systems, and as such they have become widely regarded as unhelpful for accessibility purposes.
