We are a regional sustainability network, aimed at both service providers and commissioners, primarily within Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. With the key focus on sharing experience and expertise, the group aim is to take forward the National Sustainable Development Strategy through various initiatives including collaborative projects and regular topical masterclasses.
Our Ambition and Approach
We have developed a narrative document to guide our network activities, which is available here.
Activities
The network hosts a regular quarterly Masterclass, followed by a networking session. Events are free to attend and open to all working in relevant roles or simply interested in promoting the sustainability agenda within healthcare.
We are currently planning the future of the network and your input is required. We hope to run 3 masterclasses per year, and need you to suggest the areas that you are interested in. Please get in touch with kim.croasdale@nhs.net with your suggestions. The previous masterclasses may provide ideas - you can suggest a repeat of something already run or an entirely new area.
Next masterclass
Our first masterclass of 2019 will be on 30th January at Victoria House, Fulbourn, Cambridge - Newton Room 10am-12pm.
Funding is essential for most projects and initiatives, and gaining buy in and support from the Financial Director is often key to success. We will be having 2 presentations:
- Daryl Cockman - Acting Director of Finance, NHS England Midlands & East (East) will give some ideas on how to engage with your FD and ensure sustainability is at the heart of decision-making
- Salix will outline interest-free funding options and give the benefit of their experience on how to approach and discuss financing.
The event is free to attend, so please feel free to bring along your FD.
If you are interested in attending or require further information, please contact Kim Croasdale at the SDU - kim.croasdale@nhs.net.
